EPR has intimate knowledge of fossil power plants due to decades of previous experience by the principals as engineers/contractors/owners. It is not a casual decision to provide our owner/clients with top tier project support and personnel. Rather, it is from first-hand knowledge of the importance of effective project delivery.

Combined Cycle (Frame/Aero)

EPR is experienced at executing all forms of simple-cycle and combined-cycle projects, including green-field or repowered sites. Recent experience includes restructuring duties at one of the world's largest combined-cycle power/desal facilities and various greenfield F-Class (50hz/60Hz) combined cycle plants.

Thermal (Oil/Coal)

Recent international experience includes heavy fuel oil and coal thermal power with multiple 660MW blocks and the balance of plant facilities like GIS interconnects, fuel/ash handling, FGDs, ESPs, and seawater intake structures. An EPR principal managed the first international bank financed Chinese EPC project ($2.5B) built to international standards.

Renewables

Recent involvement with Biomass, Wind, and Solar have shown to be a natural extension of EPR's project knowledge, construction management expertise, and commissioning experience.

Pipelines & Compression

Many of EPR's projects have included pipeline and compression facilities. This experience and extensive code & standards exposure make the hydrocarbon transportation industry a beneficiary of EPR’s quality and construction management competencies.

Refining, Chemicals, & LNG

Previous project experience includes chemical plants, and International LNG commissioning.  These facilities demand a rigor and attention to detail that is organic with the field personnel and leadership at EPR.

Mining & Metals (Captive Power)

Captive power is usually combined cycle or thermal but requires a special understanding of the technical complexity and capital cost tradeoffs necessitated by N+1 or N+2 redundancy and some of the unique requirements for avoiding single failures. EPR has extensive experience assisting developers with captive power technical and contracting strategies.
